1. What to do when death occurs in Thailand?

2. Do I need to do all the documentations by myself?

No, you do not need to do all by yourself. Once you have contacted the Consular Section of your Embassy and assign MSLI to be your Funeral Director. The Consular Section will grant us an "Authorization Letter". After that we can manage and obtain all the documentations on your behalf.
3. Does MSLI have a cremation or funeral services?

Yes, MSLI arranges a cremation service with a small Buddhist ceremony or any ceremonies based on your beliefs. The family can later decide if they wish to repatriate the ashes or scatter them here in a river or sea.
4. Can a foreign citizen be cremated/buried in Thailand?

Yes, foreigners can be cremated in Thailand. Columbarium can be purchased in a temple or church.
5. How long does it take to repatriate a deceased body to his/her home country?

In general, the overall process may take 1 to 2 weeks depending on the destination.
6. Can MSLI assist in packing and shipping the deceased's personal belongings ?

Yes, we can help you check and organize them for Free-of-charge. However, the shipping cost depends on the weight.

1.How does my repatriation happen?

Medical repatriation will happen when you have a medical condition, and your current hospital cannot treat you properly or cannot do a definite treatment. In this case we will transfer you to a higher facility with a medical escort or an air ambulance.

3.How much does it cost to be repatriated with a medical escort?

The cost can be varied depending on the condition of the patient, whether he/she can travel in Economy Class, Business Class or air ambulance. Also depending on the destination, flight time, and medical equipment needed during the flight. MSLI will quote a case by case with the best price that can be provided.
4.How can I be sure that MSLI is qualified for such repatriation?

Our medical escort team are certified doctors, nurses and paramedics.
5.Who will decide whether a patient is well enough to fly?

Our aviation doctor will evaluate each case and decide if the patient fit to fly in which mode of transportation.
6.Will MSLI help in communicating with the clinic or hospital?

Yes, our medical team and multilingual interpreters facilitate seamless communications between the patient, families, and medical staffs.
7.Can a family member accompany a patient on Air Ambulance?

It will depend on the condition of the patient and a type of Air Ambulance.
8.How long will it take to be repatriated to my hometown?

Our medical doctor will have to discuss with the treating doctor of the patient. They will then submit a medical clearance form with the airline for their approval. This process normally takes 1-2 weeks with commercial airline. However, for air ambulance, we can operate within 4 hours if the aircraft is available.
